Given new evidence on the B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant, CDC has updated the guidance for fully vaccinated people. CDC recommends universal indoor masking for all teachers, staff, students, and visitors to K-12 schools, regardless of vaccination status. Children should return to full-time in-person learning in the fall with layered prevention strategies in place.

The White House announced that vaccines will be required for international travelers coming into the United States, with an effective date of November 8, 2021. For purposes of entry into the United States, vaccines accepted will include FDA approved or authorized and WHO Emergency Use Listing vaccines. More information is available here.

How to Complete Your v-safe Health Check-In

  1. When you receive a v-safe health check-in text message on your smartphone, click the link when you’re ready. Daily health check-ins should take less than 5 minutes to complete.

  1. Follow the instructions to complete your health check-in.

If you are interrupted during a health check-in, you can come back and complete the process later. Click the link in the text message reminder to restart and complete it.

  • Daily health check-ins expire at 11:59 PM local time on the day you receive the link.
  • Weekly health check-ins expire at 11:59 PM local time on day 6 after you receive the link.

Once a health check-in has expired, it is no longer available for completion. However, you can report adverse events following vaccination to the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting Systemexternal icon.
