NEW! Medicare COVID-19 Vaccination Data for Medicaid Managed Care Organizations Pilot (08/09/2021)

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has invited eligible Medicaid managed care organizations (MCOs) to participate in a data-sharing pilot project to facilitate increased care coordination for individuals dually eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, also known as “dually eligible beneficiaries,” during the COVID-19 public health emergency. This pilot project (herein referred to as the “Medicare COVID-19 Vaccination Data for Medicaid MCOs pilot (PDF)”) is being managed by CMS’ Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office (MMCO), and was open to a maximum of 20 MCOs that enroll dually eligible beneficiaries. The deadline to submit an application was 08/30/2021. CMS is currently involved with application reviews and further development of the program, and will provide updates in the near future.

The CMS Medicare-Medicaid Coordination Office (MMCO) has brought together reports, data, and other resources to help you better understand the health, health care needs, and health care experiences of individuals who are dually enrolled in Medicare and Medicaid. We also provide information for researchers and states on accessing Medicare and other data for care coordination and other approved uses.
