FDA Drug Topics: Understanding Generic Narrow Therapeutic Index Drugs - November 1, 2022

FDA’s Division of Drug Information in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) is excited to present a series of educational webinars targeting the needs of all health care professionals and students, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. Interact with FDA staff from a variety of divisions and learn more about the FDA and drug regulation!

On Tuesday, November 1, 2022, CDER's Office of Communication, Division of Drug Information (DDI) will host a webinar titled: FDA Drug Topics: Understanding Generic Narrow Therapeutic Index Drugs. This webinar will provide health care providers with information and knowledge on how to answer questions that patients may have about narrow therapeutic index (NTI) generic drugs, such as how the FDA recognizes the importance of bioequivalence in NTI generic drugs and has stricter standards for bioequivalence of NTI drugs than for other generic drugs. The presentation will also give providers information on FDA's post-market research efforts to ensure therapeutic equivalence of generic NTI drugs.
