Director - Office of Food Policy and Response
Suzanne Roosen is Acting Director of the Office of Food Policy and Response (OFPR). Since 2019, she has been the Director of Resource Planning and Strategic Management in OFPR where she led collaborative efforts across the agency to obtain and deploy resources for high-priority food safety initiatives. Ms. Roosen also spearheaded U.S. government data analytics as part of FDA’s infant formula shortage response efforts.
Before joining OFPR, Ms. Roosen was Director of the Division of Budget Formulation and Program Alignment in FDA’s Office of Budget, leading strategies to increase FDA appropriations to better support its public health mission. She first joined FDA as a Presidential Management Fellow in the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition. During her time at the agency, Ms. Roosen has been recognized for her commitment to developing and sustaining high-performing teams and action-oriented work cultures.
Ms. Roosen holds a Master of Public Administration from the American University and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Connecticut.
