Women's History Month
Voices of Innovation: Women in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics
This series represents the experiences of several women, in their own voices, who held very different positions at the FDA. These brief statements capture their work as the earliest female field inspectors, as a participant in the agency’s response to the challenges of aflatoxins, as a statistician who helped in the development of clinical trial design and evaluation, as a social scientist who reoriented the way FDA communicates the risks and benefits of many medical products to practitioners and patients, and others who contributed to the agency’s mission. Visitors also will find links to their complete oral history transcripts, to discover even more about these fascinating individuals.
American women have changed the landscape of scientific health research, medicine, and public health. In commemoration of Women’s History Month at FDA, we are highlighting the contributions of a number of pioneering women who made significant and long-lasting contributions to public health during their careers with the Food and Drug Administration.
