FDA-TRACK: Office of External Affairs

 

FDA's Office of External Affairs (OEA) serves as the central point of communication and education about the FDA’s public health and regulatory activity. This includes the development, coordination, and leadership of all FDA communications and outreach efforts to the news media, health professionals, patient advocates, industry, states, consumer groups, and the general public. OEA also serves as the focal point for speechwriting, creative and editorial services, and best practices in digital and web technology.

Each FDA-TRACK program area collects, analyzes, and reports its performance measures and results. Explore the progress OEA is making towards it's strategic priorities below:

    I. Mobile Site Evaluation Measures

    A. Gather feedback from the public on usability and effectiveness of FDA's mobile site so continuous improvements are made to best serve the needs of the public
    1. Average American Customer Satisifaction Index (ACSI) evaluation score from surveys completed on the mobile site during the month

    II. Social Media Enhancement Measures

    A. Increase the reach of FDA social media tools by providing content to enhance FDA's social media program and improve ability for end user to share content
    1. Percentage increase of FDA Facebook page likes received during the month

      I. Patient Outreach Measures

      A. Increase awareness and educate patients, caregivers, advocates, and their organization on FDA regulatory processes by providing accessible and timely access to consolidated, targeted information on the Patient Network website
      1. Number of visits to the FDA Patient Network website during the month

      II. Newsroom Measures

      III. MedWatch Enhancement Measures

      A. Increase awareness of adverse events associated with FDA regulated products by promoting the use of MedWatch as a tool for adverse event reporting and information gathering
      1. Number of MedWatch e-list subscribers during the month
