FDA Resources for Patients with Cancer and Advocates
FDA offers many online resources for patients and consumers interested in learning more about cancer clinical trials. Several informative pages are also available through the FDA Office of Minority Health and Health Equity links under Cancer.
Minorities have low rates of participation in clinical trials. FDA is working to improve this because it is important to test medical products in the people they are meant to help. This makes the products safer and more effective for everyone.
Minorities in Clinical Trials- Racial and ethnic minorities are underrepresented in clinical research. This is a concern because people of different ages, races, and ethnicities, may react differently to medical products.
