Haile Yancy PhD.
Leadership Role

Division of Applied Veterinary Research

Biography

Haile Yancy obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Jarvis Christian College and his Ph. D. degree in Biology with a minor in molecular and forensic biology from the Department of Biology at Howard University.  Upon completion of his degree, he began a two-and-a-half-year post-doctoral fellowship at the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine.  He is currently a research biologist at the FDA’s Center for Veterinary Medicine.

Research

Dr. Yancy’s research activities have focused on addressing issues relevant to CVM and the Agency.  His research efforts have include developing molecular method in an effort to prevent the propagation of BSE, species identification, biomarker discovery, genetically engendered (GE) animal drug applications (NADA), and new animal models to assist new canine drug approvals.
