Abstract and Poster Submission Guidelines

You are invited to submit your poster’s abstract to the 2023 Omics Days

Please remember that this event is open to the public. Therefore, abstracts and virtual pdf posters should not contain any confidential information and need to be cleared prior to submission.

Key Submission Elements:

  • Prior to submission, your abstracts must be cleared for public audience by your supervisor or designated authority/chain of command in your center/office according to the Staff Manual Guide for clearance of publications/abstracts.
  • You should write the abstract in the third person, using plain language, and a clear, concise, publication-ready format for a public audience.
  • The title of the poster should clearly and succinctly identify the contents of the abstract.
  • Your abstract should be no more than 350 words and consist of background, purpose, methodology, results, and conclusion.
  • Your abstracts and posters should reflect the findings, major conclusions, and impact of the work on public health.
  • First authors must be the presenting author and can submit only one poster abstract for the event, but they can be a co-author on other posters. The deadline for submission of abstracts via the FDA-Omics-Working-Group@fda.hhs.gov site is August 21st, 2023. This form must be used for submission and it must be saved as a .docx document with your First and Last name as the name of the document. For instance, JohnDoe.docx. Late submissions and submissions not saved properly will not be accepted.
  • Ensure that your organization finds releasing the information acceptable. Your abstract must be relevant to one of the four topic areas:
     
    1. FDA One Health
    2. Genomics, Transcriptomics, and Metagenomics
    3. Metabolomics and Proteomics
    4. Data Integration and Management

  • Abstract acceptance

Abstracts will be reviewed for relevance, quality, and impact of the work to the session. Submitters will be notified by September 18th, 2023 whether their abstract has been accepted for the Omics Days 2023 poster session. The final poster is due on October 2nd, 2023.
