To provide high quality, secure, and efficient IT solutions that enable the FDA to promote and protect the public health.


Major Functions and descriptions

Information Security — responsible for overseeing the protection of privacy and ensuring confidentiality, integrity, and availability of FDA information in accordance with federal, department and Agency regulations.

Business and Customer Assurance — ensures high levels of customer service and accountability, compliance with federal mandates and regulations, delivery of cost effective services and products, while exceeding customer expectations. Seek to provide customers with performance improvements in terms of services and delivery and work to build trusting relationships to foster long-term partnerships.

Technology Delivery — responsible for ensuring excellence through the design, development, and application of information technology using proven and emerging strategies to reduce cost, improve services, reduce security and system failure risks to support the FDA in protecting the public health. Increased focus on the delivery of services in alignment with approved requirements. Seek to reduce the cost of IT services by leveraging resources, consolidating and eliminating duplication of efforts, and adopting new technology.

Informatics and Technology Innovation — responsible for studying, developing prototype, testing, and recommending key and innovative technology-based and informatics solutions, information systems, and resources that provide alternatives to address key areas to FDA’s mission around; big data and analytics, cloud and high performance scientific computing, mobility, digitization, open data, and more. The goal is to enable FDA to realize a positive effect on public health and provide better management and timely utility of information and knowledge to FDA personnel, consumers, partners, and the public.
