FDA Drug Topics: Counseling Patients on Generic Drugs – February 22, 2022

FDA’s Division of Drug Information in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) is excited to present a series of educational webinars targeting the needs of all health care professionals and students, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. Interact with FDA staff from a variety of divisions and learn more about the FDA and drug regulation!

On Tuesday, February 22, 2022, CDER's Office of Communication, Division of Drug Information (DDI) will host a webinar titled: FDA Drug Topics: Counseling Patients on Generic Drugs. This webinar will provide health care providers with information and knowledge on how to answer questions that patients may have about generic drugs such as whether generic drugs work the same as brand-name drugs, why they might look different, why they cost less, and if they are as safe as the brand-name drug. The presentation will also give providers information on therapeutic equivalence and how they can locate a generic drug equivalent for their patients.
