As the Acting Associate Commissioner for Legislative Affairs, Andrew Tantillo directs FDA’s engagement with Congress. He leads the Office of Legislation, which advises and assists Members of Congress, congressional committees, and congressional staff on matters related to their legislative interest in FDA and provides analysis regarding legislative activity to Agency leadership. 

Prior to his current role, Mr. Tantillo served as the Deputy Director of the Office of Legislation. In this position he managed the Office’s work on priority projects and collaborated with officials across the Agency to engage Congress. He previously served as Senior Advisor in the Office of Legislation, where he co-led the team that worked with Congress during passage of the FDA Reauthorization Act.

Before joining FDA in 2017, Mr. Tantillo held a number of positions in the U.S. House of Representatives over fifteen years and worked in the private sector as a federal liaison for municipal and county governments for four years. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and a law degree from Georgetown University.
