MOU 225-71-2006

Memorandum of Understanding Between
The Internal Revenue Service
and The Food and Drug Administration

The Food and Drug Administration (hereinafter called the FDA) agrees to furnish to the Internal Revenue Service (hereinafter called the IRS) the services as described herein.


PURPOSE:

To furnish to the Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms Division, Internal Revenue Service, information concerning legal actions taken by Food and Drug Administration against alcoholic beverage firms for underfilling of containers.

I. Services to be Furnished

A. FDA will provide the IRS with a specimen summary slip of any seizures made by FDA of any alcoholic beverage found to be "short-volume."

B. IRS may make telephone inquiries to FDA for more detailed information not routinely included on the specimen summary slip.

III. Period of Agreement

This Memorandum of Understanding, when accepted by both agencies, covers an indefinite period of time and may be modified with the mutual consent of both parties and may be terminated by either party upon a (30) day advance written notice.
