Estrogenic Activity Database (EADB)

EADB is currently not compatible with Java 6. Please use Java 8 for best results.

NCTR has developed an Estrogenic Activity Database (EADB) and made it openly available. EADB assembles a comprehensive set of estrogenic activity data from a variety of data sources and is a component of the enhanced Endocrine Disruptors Knowledge Base (EDKB). It contains 18,114 estrogenic-activity data points collected for 8,212 chemicals tested in 1,284 binding assays, reporter-gene assays, cell-proliferation assays, and in-vivo assays in 11 different species. EADB has a set of database functions for searching chemicals and estrogenic activity data, browsing the database, searching results, and exporting data. You can use the database online or install it on your local computer.

Accessing EADB Database: You will notice some delay the first time you run EADB because the entire EADB application must be downloaded the first time you access it (the clock time may vary from several minutes up to 30 minutes depending on network speed and loads on the FDA servers). After the first download, the launcher will only download parts of the application that have been changed, and the application should start up much quicker. You may also be prompted to update your version of Java before EADB will run.

Installation Requirements: For Microsoft Windows (98/NT/2000/XP/Vista/Window 7), the EADB application and Java version 7 or higher need to be installed the first time it is accessed. Currently, neither Unix/Linux nor Mac OS X is supported.   *Note: Use this link to install or re-install Java.
