Webinar on the Voluntary Sodium Reduction Targets Draft Guidance

FDA hosted a webinar on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 to help the public understand the Voluntary Sodium Reduction Targets Draft Guidance, why it’s important, and areas where the agency is seeking comment. The draft guidance will provide the FDA and the food industry with a common system for defining and measuring progress in reducing sodium in the food supply. The FDA is issuing short-term (2 year) and long-term (10 year) draft targets to help the American public gradually reduce sodium intake to 2,300 milligrams (mg) per day.
