From the start, CDRH’S Network of Experts has aimed to provide rapid access to external expertise for Center staff as needed, to help fulfill the agency’s mission. CDRH's Network of Experts is now pleased to announce the creation of a permanent, specialized pool of expertise, the Network of Digital Health Experts to support the FDA’s Digital Health Center of Excellence.

The Network of Digital Health Experts is comprised of a pool of vetted experts available to share knowledge and experience regarding digital health issues with FDA staff on an as-needed basis. Program experts should possess recognized expertise and leadership as demonstrated through authorship of peer-reviewed publications, committee membership, regular speaking engagements and other academic or professional activities. The program grants access to experts who are on the forefront of cutting-edge technologies, current best practices, and understanding in the various digital health subfields.

What Is the Digital Health Network of Experts?

Experts from the Network of Digital Health Experts are members of one of the Network of Experts’ many partner organizations. Experts are required to file a conflict of interest (COI) form in the interest of transparency and to disclose any potential issues related to impartiality. Experts’ COIs and CVs are held on file and available internally to Center staff for review. Should staff encounter questions for which they require digital health expertise, they may request a teleconference with select experts from the pool who hold experience in that particular topic area. Topics may be related to digital health and/or cybersecurity as it applies to specific medical fields or more broadly across the healthcare spectrum. Discussion and feedback may be related to pre- or postmarket issues, clinical care, new developments in the field, or other relevant issues in these areas:

• Artificial Intelligence
• Physiologic Sensors, Wearables, and Medical Internet of Things (IOT)
• Digital Therapeutics
• Software Engineering
• Real-World Evidence
• Mobile Networks and Wireless Communication
• Cybersecurity
• Digital Biomarkers

How Can I Join the Network of Digital Health Experts?

For individuals: If you are a member of a current Network of Experts partner organization and are interested in joining the program, please forward a recent (within six months) CV to [email protected]. Be sure to:

• Include ‘DHP’ and your specific area(s) of expertise (see above) in the email subject line.
• State your home organization within the body of the email.

Cover letters are not required.
