Background:

The public is invited, and registration is free for “Conversations on Cancer: Lung Cancer: It Can Happen to Anyone.” Every year in the US, as many as 20% of deaths due to lung cancer are in people who have never (or hardly ever) smoked – everyone is at risk. Many people, even healthcare providers, don’t suspect that lung cancer is likely to occur in nonsmokers, leading to delayed diagnosis and missed opportunities for early treatment. The prognosis, treatment options, and patient experience may also be different in nonsmoker patients with lung cancer.  Anyone can get lung cancer. Please join the FDA Oncology Center of Excellence for a dynamic panel discussion about lung cancer in nonsmokers.
