Background:

Conversations on Cancer: Advancing Equity in Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Communities: Racism and Injustice is a 1 ½ hour conversation that will explore the surge of racism and hate crimes against AAPIs that is often linked to rhetoric blaming AAPIs for the spread of COVID-19.

This is an important problem affecting many AAPI communities across the U.S. The panel discussion is informal and will address the following topics:

  • Impact of COVID-19 on racism and healthcare in the AAPI population
  • Disparities in cancer care in AAPIs
  • Patients’ perspective on disparities in cancer care in the AAPI community
  • Barriers to seeking medical care for AAPIs

A free-of-charge webcast of this public panel discussion will be provided. Registration for the webcast is required at the link above.
