Do I qualify for a COVID-19 vaccine booster and which one?

Which primary vaccine series did you complete?

Pfizer-BioNTech** or Comirnaty**

You may get a single or first booster dose if:

  • It's been at least 5 months since completing a primary series AND you are:
  • 5 years of age and older**

 

  • You may be eligible for a single or first booster dose of:
    • Pfizer-BioNTech** or Comirnaty**
    • Moderna or Spikevax
    • Janssen (J&J)*

You may get a second booster dose if:

  • It's been at least 4 months since the first booster dose AND you are:
  • 50 years of age and older OR 12 years of age and older with certain kinds of immunocompromise

 

  • You may be eligible for a second booster dose of:
    • Pfizer-BioNTech** or Comirnaty**
    • Moderna or Spikevax

Moderna or Spikevax

You may get a single or first booster dose if:

  • It's been at least 5 months since completing a primary series AND you are:
  • 18 years of age and older

 

  • You may be eligible for a single or first booster dose of:
    • Moderna or Spikevax
    • Pfizer-BioNTech or Comirnaty
    • Janssen (J&J)*

You may get a second booster dose if:

  • It's been at least 4 months since the first booster dose AND you are:
  • 50 years of age and older OR age 18 years of age and older with certain kinds of immunocompromise

 

  • You may be eligible for a second booster dose of:
    • Moderna or Spikevax
    • Pfizer-BioNTech or Comirnaty

Janssen (J&J)*

You may get a single or first booster dose if:

  • It's been at least 2 months since completing primary vaccination AND you are:
  • 18 years of age and older

 

  • You may be eligible for a single or first booster dose of:
    • Janssen (J&J)*
    • Pfizer-BioNTech or Comirnaty
    • Moderna or Spikevax

You may get a second booster dose if:

  • It's been at least 4 months since the first booster dose AND you are:
  • 50 years of age and older OR 18 years of age and older with certain kinds of immunocompromise

 

  • You may be eligible for a second booster dose of:
    • Pfizer-BioNTech or Comirnaty
    • Moderna or Spikevax

*FDA has limited the authorized use of the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine to individuals 18 years of age and older for whom other authorized or approved COVID-19 vaccines are not accessible or clinically appropriate, and to individuals 18 years of age and older who elect to receive the Janssen COVID-19 Vaccine because they would otherwise not receive a COVID-19 vaccine.

**Only Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine can be used for a booster dose in individuals 5 through 11 years of age. Only Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine or Comirnaty can be used for booster doses in individuals 12 through 17 years of age.
