Update on Indonesia Regulatory Agency

As of June 16, 2023, the Fish Quarantine and Inspection Agency (FQIA) has been renamed to the Marine and Fisheries Quality Assurance Agency (MFQAA). This change was a result of the stipulation of the Governmental Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 38 Year 2023 concerning the organizational structure, nomenclature, duty and function of the Marine and Fisheries Quality Assurance Agency (MFQAA) of the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) of the Republic of Indonesia. MFQAA is the competent authority for quality and safety of fish and fisheries products in Indonesia and the enquiry point of sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) in Indonesia's fishery sector.  With respect to the confidentiality commitment signed in 2023, the MFQAA confirms it is bound by the commitments made by FQIA to protect FDA-provided nonpublic information in the 2023 confidentiality commitment and will continue to protect any non-public information previously shared.
