Background:

Advancing a More Equal Future for AA & NHPI Patients with Cancer is a 1.5 hour conversation scheduled on March 28, 2023, from 2:00 PM – 3:30 PM EST, and will launch OCE's newest initiative, which is aimed to shed light on the fact that cancer is the leading cause of death for Asian Americans, and healthcare disparities continue to exist in the Asian American and Native Hawaiian & Pacific Islander (AA & NHPI) patient populations. In July 2021, OCE’s Conversation on Cancer, Advancing Equity in Asian American and Pacific Islander Communities: Racism and Injustice, discussed the current oncology healthcare inequities, including cultural, language, and other barriers to access. The conversation in March 2023 will build on this prior discussion, and discuss the vision for this new initiative, including opportunities for stakeholder engagement and collaboration in the areas of regulatory science, policy, and research.
