FDA Drug Topics: Enhanced Drug Distribution Security: 2023 and Beyond - June 1, 2021

FDA’s Division of Drug Information in the Center for Drug Evaluation and Research (CDER) is excited to present a series of educational webinars targeting the needs of all health care professionals and students, including physicians, physician assistants, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. Interact with FDA staff from a variety of divisions and learn more about the FDA and drug regulation!

On Tuesday, June 1, 2021, CDER's Office of Communication, Division of Drug Information (DDI) hosted a webinar titled: FDA Drug Topics: Enhanced Drug Distribution Security: 2023 and Beyond. This webinar provided updates on implementation of supply chain security requirements under the Drug Supply Chain Security Act and described requirements that go into effect in 2023 for enhanced drug distribution security. Enhanced product tracing and verification will help protect patients by improving detection and response to suspect and illegitimate products and prevent the distribution of illegitimate products in the U.S. FDA and the supply chain will need to work together to establish a fully electronic, interoperable system for enhanced drug distribution security across the entire drug supply chain.
