Now Accepting Applications:

As part of OMHHE’s Enhance Equity Initiative, OMHHE has announced a new Educational Funding Opportunity: Expanding Education on Skin Lightening Products (U01). The purpose of this funding opportunity announcement (FOA) is to expand and advance FDA OMHHE's work with stakeholders and partners for education, outreach, and public awareness activities on the use of and potential risks from skin lightening products (e.g., hydroquinone).

Applicants will propose innovative and community-based strategies and activities that have the potential to strengthen the science base for education and public health awareness on the use of and potential risks from skin lightening products. The number of awards is contingent upon FDA appropriations and the submission of a sufficient number of meritorious applications. Award(s) will provide one (1) year of support. FDA OMHHE intends to fund up to $500,000 for fiscal year 2023 in support of this cooperative agreement program. It is anticipated that up to two (2) awards will be made, not to exceed $250,000 in total costs (direct plus indirect). Applications are due December 5, 2022, by 11:59 PM Eastern Time.
