Benefits and risks of consumer antiseptics.  NDAC expressed concern about the pervasive use of consumer antiseptic washes where there are potential risks and no demonstrable benefit.  To demonstrate a clinical benefit, NDAC recommended clinical outcome studies to show that antiseptic washes are superior to non-antibacterial soap and water
