HSX Interoperability Testing Process-Enabling Meaningful Exchange in the SEPA region

Description
HealthShare Exchange of Southeastern PA is the regional Health Information Exchange (HIE) for the Philadelphia region. HSX provides Direct Secure Messaging and Provider Directory Services to the providers in the SEPA region to facilitate the meaningful exchange of CCD/As and ToCs. With over 27 EHR systems participating in the HIE, HSX has experienced many issues related to interoperability. To address these challenges, HSX implemented an interoperability testing process as part of onboarding new entities to the HIE. This process assesses the capability of member EHR systems to send, receive, view and import CCDs from disparate systems.
