Encounter Notification Service – Alerting Providers about COVID-19 Test Results

Description 
CRISP (an HIE serving Maryland, and West Virginia and D.C. via affiliation), in partnership with Audacious Inquiry, has leveraged their existing ENS platform to deliver a new alert type to members of a patient’s care team, when a patient has had a positive or negative COVID-19 lab test.  ENS is able to identify the lab values present in an HL7 Observation Result (ORU) messages and use them to trigger alerts to providers within their existing workflows.
