Volunteering with MRC of Spokane County is an opportunity to join a team of peers who are ready to serve and give back to their community while putting their medical, public health and other professional experience to use. Volunteering opportunities include participating in emergency preparedness and response efforts, providing medical support at community events, or supporting regularly scheduled projects.
Depending on each volunteer’s goals, time commitment ranges from a few hours a year to a few hours per week. All volunteers are required to complete orientation training, which takes about five hours to complete.

All new volunteers are required to complete orientation training. This self-paced training takes approximately five hours to complete. After completing orientation, volunteers may sign up for shifts, which they will receive by e-mail from the unit coordinator. Volunteers are never obligated to sign up for events. MRC volunteers must complete required training, which includes the following:
Additionally, MRC volunteer participation at certain events may require specific training or certifications. For example, a volunteer vaccinator at a vaccine clinic must have valid credentials to vaccinate in Washington state.
Other training is offered locally as available and may provide continuing education credits.
